TFO Merano offers an Electronics and Electrical Engineering programme specialising in Electronics. Alongside the traditional electronics curriculum, students can expand their knowledge in Robotics and Industrial Computing through practical projects and hands-on activities.

The programme provides a broad and comprehensive education. Students gain an understanding of microelectronics and electronic components, as well as the fundamentals of electricity, electrical machines and the production and distribution of electrical energy.

A significant part of the programme takes place in the laboratory, where students apply theoretical knowledge and calculations using specialised design software. Students learn to use a variety of measuring instruments and acquire the skills required for designing, building, and testing electronic and electrical circuits. They also gain experience in designing, manufacturing, and assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Programming plays a central role in the programme. Students learn to program computers, machines, and robots using different programming languages, developing highly relevant skills in the fields of electronics, automation, and software development.

As computers are an essential tool for electronics technicians, students are strongly recommended to use a personal laptop.
